The Sharpening Minds
MCS is situated in the heart of the city. The architecture as well as the layout keeps a delicate balance between the daily humdrum of city life and academics.
- Classrooms are spacious and well ventilated with ample natural and artificial lighting.
- Teacher to Student Ratio (Primary Block) of 1:12 to develop individualized learning.
- 28 students per class to retain small class size for personal attention.
- Language and Mathematics are the building blocks for pursuing knowledge.
- Age appropriate learning of conceptual skills to analyze and structure solutions to reach out to higher levels of learning.
The Curriculum
MCS is a co-ed day school which ensures, a child-centered learning with progress. The school uses liberal teaching methodologies and provides the highest standard of formal education. It is guided by the Nepali national curriculum framework designed to expose students to an active and dynamic learning environment to make them ready to step into the global society.
Lesson planning, classroom performance and contribution to co-curricular activities are under constant supervision of the Principal. Staff development is through a wide range of on-going in-service programmes and workshops which cover not only academics and pedagogy but also areas such as psychological counseling and personality development.
The Assessment System
Promotion to the next higher class at the end of the academic year is on continuous assessment through assignments, projects, class tests, group activities and term examinations.
Trusted Guidance
The most important academic resource any school has of course is the staff. We are fortunate in having committed, dedicated, experienced and enthusiastic teachers who conduct activities within the school offering a broad balanced curriculum with numerous clubs and activities. The school has ongoing teacher induction programs for professional development. Child as well as adult development is the prime concern of this school.
Partnership with parents
We believe that parent’s active participation is essential to the overall development of the child and the school. As such, Parents’ representative (one male, one female) is also included in the School Management Committee (SMC).
Parents are kept informed of all school events through school calendar, newsletter and website. They follow the child’s progress through regular and detailed school reports.
The school also welcomes parents to visit the school to discuss matters of concern with the Grade teacher, the Coordinator or the Principal through prior appointments.
